Transformation • Resilience • Higher Consciousness
Libyan desert glass is a rare, naturally occurring glass found in the eastern Sahara, near the border of Libya and Egypt. Formed around 29 million years ago, it is believed to have originated from the intense heat of a meteorite impact or an airburst that fused the desert sand. The glass is mostly composed of nearly pure silica and has a striking yellow-green color. Ancient Egyptians valued it highly—most famously, a piece of it was used in a scarab found in King Tutankhamun's burial jewellery
Properties
Libyan desert glass is highly valued for both its spiritual and physical benefits, making it a powerful tool in holistic and metaphysical practices. Spiritually, it’s known to activate the solar plexus chakra, enhancing personal power, confidence, and mental clarity while aiding in spiritual awakening and connection to higher consciousness. Its cosmic origin is believed to carry ancient wisdom, making it ideal for meditation, past-life recall, and energetic transformation. Physically, it's thought to support vitality by boosting the immune system, aiding digestion, and increasing overall energy flow in the body. Many use it to promote resilience, inner strength, and a sense of balance, aligning both body and spirit with a higher frequency.
Chakra
Libyan desert glass is closely associated with the solar plexus chakra, which governs personal power, confidence, and will. By stimulating this chakra, the glass is believed to help clear energetic blockages, boost self-esteem, and enhance motivation and determination. It encourages a strong sense of identity and purpose, empowering individuals to take control of their lives and pursue their goals with clarity and focus.
Some also find that it subtly activates the third eye and crown chakras, facilitating spiritual insight, cosmic awareness, and a deeper connection to higher realms. This makes it a versatile stone for those seeking both grounded personal strength and elevated spiritual growth.
